The annual Vancouver Book Award has been recognizing authors of excellence of any genre since 1989. These authors contribute to the appreciation and understanding of Vancouver’s diversity, history, unique character, or the achievements of its residents. The $3,000 prize is funded by the City of Vancouver Publishing Reserve, established in 1977 as a permanent legacy for Vancouver writers and publishers and facilitated by the West Coast Book Prize Society.
The winner will be announced at the Vancouver Book Award Ceremony on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Vancouver Public Library’s Montalbano Family Theatre. Copies of the shortlisted titles will be on sale from Book Warehouse.
